Choosing the Best CRM Solution for Small Business

CRM Lead Management

Contact management for small businesses is very crucial and definitely a big deal for every operation. It is often causing a big impact on every bottom line. That doesn’t come as a surprise at all. The reason for that is because the manner that lead management is conducted for every business — how you maintain connection with current and potential customers, track and manage sales and marketing data, and drive businesses to your company — is vital to a company’s overall income figures. The following paragraphs will deal with the pros and cons of two of the leading CRM solutions in the market.

Salesforce.com

  • PROS: CRM integration with dozens of 3rd party tools including marketing automation. It has an impressive import functionality that is constantly rivaled by other CRM developers. It also allows users to be flexible in mapping data, which allows for full control of data that is overwritten, merged, and updated.
  • CONS: It is unnecessarily expensive with less-flexible contractual terms. It cannot be customized. That means that the business would have to adapt its processes to the configuration of the CRM. That’s a pretty rigid way to use a business tool.

SugarCRM

  • PROS: User-friendly interface and powerful CRM customization options, added with the most powerful ability to edit codes. It also has flexible contract terms and more cost-effective than Salesforce.com in the On Demand Version and free if a user is hosting the Open Source Version.
  • CONS: It currently has little support for most 3rd party applications, which can have an impact if a user regularly updates his database. Although, this is one glitch that is seen to be patched up in the near future.
