Finding Better Alternatives to Salesforce.com

Written By: Cliff Ford on July 14, 2011 No Comment

Overview

In a blog article for a software advisory site, CRM analyst Lauren Carlson recognized Salesforce.com as the leader in cloud CRM solutions. This takes into consideration the facts that are yielded whenever CRM comparison surveys are conducted, including its known premiere status of being one of the first SaaS-based CRM products in the market. Salesforce seems to generate an impression of a user-friendly tool with deep impacts on the business processes relevant to its functions. The good thing about free trade these days is that buyers are presented with options. And with options, more and better alternatives are derived. This way, the common medieval mistake of sticking with what’s prevalent can be avoided. The article draws out a short-list of the possible alternatives that may be worth considering. It is also worthy to categorize this list according to how benefits should be focused.

Focus on Integrated Programs

Microsoft Dynamics CRM has been seen as convenient for companies who have been used to the wide range of Microsoft programs. This seems reasonable enough, considering the amount of time that a company would have to train its personnel on new products or alien software. However, we all know that that doesn’t account for a lot of credit whenever we try to compare CRM systems from one another. Second on the list is Netsuite’s OneWorld CRM, where users can expect an application that is solid, integrated, and packed with tools that are useful for sales and service automation. That’s to be expected, given its high performance expectations in accounting and Enterprise Resource Planning.

Focus on User Support

The third on the list is Oracle CRM On-Demand, whose latest release (CRM On-Demand 18) boasts of a hosted solution with a single-tenant architecture that stands in comparison with Salesforce’s multi-tenant structure. This is important for CRM shoppers whose preference is to have a dedicated software and hardware stack of their own. Fourth on the list is Sage’s SalesLogix, which is lauded for its sales force automation and its strong support for global enterprises. This accounts for a massive sales turnout data, thanks to its network of more than 26,000 partners scattered over the globe. The last on the list is also the most popular open source CRM software available on the market, SugarCRM. Sugar has been widely accepted and is continuously being adopted by various companies because of its ability to transform in favor of the processes in the business, rather than altering the business to accommodate the CRM solution. It is also known to be highly comprehensive among users, providing convenient tools such as the “wizard” which renders the rookies as less pressured in learning the ropes of the system and digesting the basics in record time.
