Sugar vs Salesforce Review-More CRM Features Doesn’t Always Mean More Benefits

Salesforce will often times argue that they have more features than the top competitors such as SugarCRM. This may be true, but it doesn’t mean that users will benefit greatly from the additional features.

Database Structure is Essential CRM Feature #1

Salesforce.com attempts to place more features in their software releases because of the negatives of their multi-tenant database model. The fact that all Salesforce users share the same database would mean that they will also suffer from glitches such as feature overload as a result of too many features added, even those which are unnecessary.

Customization Flexibility is Essential CRM Feature #2

When trying to create customized fields for their CRM, Salesforce.com customers are restricted to only a limited number of custom fields, consequently restricting their CRM installation as well.

It’s a lot more inconvenient for a CRM user to reverse his actions and adjust the processes with the CRM solution rather than adjusting their CRM solution to their business processes. In other words, no one wants to change the face of their business just to accommodate a business tool. The sad fact for these particular customers is that whenever they are prompted to accept these customization limits during CRM installation, they will also be forced to upgrade to a more expensive edition. This is one of the main reasons why more and more users are switching to the more practical SugarCRM.

The fact that SugarCRM provides every customer his or her own database means that they are privileged to create an unlimited number of custom fields and custom objects. This also means that they can integrate further products and applications needed to support their business processes relevant to their CRM. This can be owed to its current setting where SugarCRM is built on an open-source development model. To put it simply, SugarCRM users will never be penalized for any successful implementation of their CRM. Everything becomes fair game, and users will be justified in their discretion of choosing what’s best for their business when they compare CRM software programs.
